Vigil is the managed DMARC service operated by The Vigilance Initiative Group (Pty) Ltd (TVIG) in South Africa. We help service providers understand who is sending email using their customers’ domains, identify authentication problems and work towards stronger domain protection.
What we do
Managing DMARC involves more than publishing a DNS record. Legitimate senders need to be identified, their authentication checked, and changes reviewed as a business adds or replaces email services.
Vigil brings that work into a continuing service:
- Assess the domain’s DMARC, SPF and DKIM configuration.
- Process aggregate reports to see which services are sending and how their authentication performs.
- Help identify legitimate senders and investigate gaps with the people who manage DNS and email services.
- Monitor results and guide policy changes when the evidence supports them.
The work we undertake, the partner’s responsibilities and the approvals needed are agreed before service begins.

Who we work with
We work with MSPs, WISPs, ISPs, hosting providers, security consultants and IT advisers that manage customer relationships, DNS or email services. Referral, reseller and self-service arrangements offer different ways to work with us.

How your service starts
Vigil is delivered electronically through the managed configuration, portal access and reporting agreed for your package. We confirm the service scope and the access and information needed for activation. We also confirm when the agreed activation work is complete.
Our Delivery, Cancellation and Refund Policy explains normal activation timing, contract commitments and how to raise a cancellation, refund or billing query. Your accepted agreement and statutory rights remain in place.
Understanding the protection
DMARC helps receiving systems assess whether email is authorised to use the visible sender’s domain. It does not inspect message content or replace spam and malware filtering, mailbox security, backups or other fraud controls. It cannot prevent every phishing attempt or provide a legal-compliance guarantee.
